Description:
New graduation requirements apply to students enrolling in Grade 11 as of July 1, 1995 or later. Current graduation requirements apply to students who started grade 11 prior to this date. Students who have started Grade 11 under the current graduation requirements have until June 30, 2001 to complete the old program. Students should contact their Distance Education School re program planning.

Graduation Requirements:
To graduate, students must earn a minimum of 52 credits (one credit is equivalent to 30 hours of instruction):

Foundation Studies (minimum of 28 credits from the following
provincial courses):
English or Communications 11 (4 credits)
English 12 or Communications 12 (4 credits)
Social Studies 11 (4 credits)

One of (4 credits):
Mathematics 11 or
Mathematics 11A or
Introductory Mathematics II or
Accounting II

One of (4 credits):
Biology 11 or
Chemistry 11 or
Physics 11 or
Science and Technology 11 or
Agriculture 11 or

Visual Art 2D or
Art 11

One of (2 credits):
Drafting 11A or
Construction 11A or
Family Management 11 or 12 or
Foods and Nutrition 11 or
Accounting 11 or
Applied Accounting 12 or
Marketing 11 or
Financial Accounting 12 or
Business Management 12 or
Speedwriting 11 or
Data Processing 11 or 12

Career and Personal Planning 11 (2 credits)
Career and Personal Planning 12 (2 credits)

Selected Studies (minimum of 24 credits) of which:
- 10 credits must be provincial Grade 12 level courses
- up to 8 credits can be locally developed.

Media and methods employed: Printed text, tutorial support, audio cassettes, video cassettes.
It is expected that students will supply their own basic materials such as pens, pencils, rulers, lined paper etc.

Administrative information:
When graduation requirements are completed in full, the Regional Correspondence School will issue a British Columbia Secondary school graduation diploma or British Columbia adult secondary school graduation diploma, whichever is appropriate, to students who complete their senior level courses by correspondence.
